Hoover’s Riverchase United Methodist Church is set to host a women’s Salt and Light event, titled ‘Planting Peace, Not Fear,’ on August 30. The event will feature speaker Aimee George, a Birmingham Realtor who has relied on her Christian faith to navigate challenging times.
George plans to share her experiences and how her faith has helped her through difficult periods. ‘I have found that with my work as a Realtor, my purpose is to help other people with life in general to realize that they don’t have to live life with fear, worry, or anxiety,’ George said. ‘You don’t have to fear what you are faced with, because God will help you through all of it.’
Event Details
The event, geared towards women of all ages, will begin at 5 p.m. and include a ‘delicious’ dinner. One of the event organizers, Brandi Guthrie, said the event aims to provide women with an evening of fellowship, encouragement, and inspiration.
Guthrie explained that the event organizers had prayed for God to lead them to a speaker whose strong faith and personal struggles could inspire and show that God can do mighty things with us. After reading Aimee George’s Facebook post about her faith and struggles, they knew they had found the right speaker.
The cost to attend the event is $25 per person. For more information or to register, visit riverchaseumc.org or call 205-987-4030.
