A farm in Cupar, Fife, Scotland, has created a huge maze in the shape of a bee and flowers. The maze, which spans six acres, is made up of hedges that are currently around 5ft tall but are expected to reach 8ft by the end of the summer.
Maze Design
The farm, Cairnie Fruit Farm, plants a new maze every year, with a different design each time. This year’s maze was planted in May using GPS trackers to plan the design, and tractors to plant the maize hedges. The maze will remain standing until late October, when it will be harvested to make way for next year’s design.
Previous maze designs have included turtles, hedgehogs, Darth Vader, and the BFG. The farm’s maze is a popular tourist attraction, with visitors able to navigate the twists and turns of the giant puzzle.
