The Sheridan Community Land Trust is calling on volunteers to help remove 2,500 feet of old fence at the Big Goose Natural Area on July 18. This project is part of the trust’s ongoing stewardship of the property, aiming to support wildlife by removing outdated fencing.
Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteers are invited to join in on Saturday, July 18, starting at 8:00 a.m. The trust will provide snacks, drinks, fencing pliers, post pullers, and equipment to help remove and roll up wire. Participants are encouraged to wear long pants, sturdy footwear, and leather gloves, and to bring a water bottle and lunch if planning to stay for the entire day.
Last week, a group of volunteers made significant progress on the project, completing about two-thirds of the work before the heat became too intense. Whether volunteers can stay for an hour or the whole day, their help will make a lasting difference in supporting the local wildlife.
