A free, hands-on Community Water Safety Skills Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Sheridan Community Land Trust’s Big Goose Natural Area. The workshop, taught by volunteers from Sheridan Area Search and Rescue, will cover recognizing common water hazards, safe kayak and canoe basics, simple rescue techniques, and how to properly fit and wear a life jacket.

The workshop is open to all ages and is family-friendly. Advance registration is encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome. This Discovery Session is presented by the Sheridan Community Land Trust in partnership with Sheridan Area Search and Rescue and is made possible through a grant from the Homer A. and Mildred S. Scott Foundation.
