Sen. Mitch McConnell, 84, has broken his silence about his recent hospitalization, revealing that a fall led to his medical care. In a statement, McConnell explained that he was “briefly unconscious” around the time he was first taken to the hospital and has undergone a series of tests to determine what led to his fall.
McConnell’s Health Update
McConnell assured the public that his doctors have confirmed he didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. He also didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke, and there are no tumors or hemorrhages. McConnell is now regaining his strength and has been moved to a rehabilitation facility, where he is undergoing physical therapy to reduce the risk of future falls.
McConnell’s physical condition has visibly declined in recent years, with the senator experiencing several falls due to his post-polio condition. Despite this, he remains determined to finish out his term, stating, “I still have unfinished business to complete on your behalf, and I have every intention of finishing the job you elected me to do.”
