Bondurant has opened The Station, a repurposed former emergency services building, to serve as a gathering place for residents, visitors, and local businesses. The facility, located at 100 Main St. NE, will also be the new home of Bondurant’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Community Engagement
City officials expect The Station to host events and activities aimed at strengthening community engagement in downtown Bondurant. The facility hosted its first event with an art class for the community, and the murals created during the class will remain on display at The Station for the next year.
Mayor Doug Elrod stated that the idea of a community center had been a long-standing goal. The repurposed building will provide a space for family functions, such as reunions and weddings, and will continue to serve the community in a different way.
