A 45-year-old Santa Paula man was arrested after trying to break into a home on Saticoy Street and fighting with two responding officers on July 7. The man, who has not been named, attempted to enter a property where he did not live and did not have legal access to, according to the Santa Paula Police Department.
Incident Details
Officers arrived to find the man agitated and attempting to enter the property. When they tried to speak with him and stop him from entering, a physical altercation started. During the scuffle, the man made several attempts to disarm one of the officers by removing his service weapon from its holster. All three men sustained minor injuries during the incident.
The 45-year-old man and one of the officers received medical treatment at a local hospital before the man was booked into the Ventura County Jail on charges of battery of a peace officer, resisting arrest, and attempting to disarm a peace officer of his firearm. His bail has been set at $500,000.
