The Greenville Symphony Orchestra will present DreamWorks Animation’s ‘How To Train Your Dragon’ in Concert on November 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Peace Center.
Live Performance
During the concert, the complete film will be shown in high definition on the big screen while the Greenville Symphony performs John Powell’s Academy Award-nominated score live to picture.
According to Lee Mills, music director of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra, ‘Powell wrote this score as if the orchestra were a character in the film – present in every scene, carrying the story’s emotional weight.’ Mills added, ‘Performing that live, in the same room as the audience, is extraordinary. I’m thrilled for Greenville to experience that.’
The Greenville Symphony Orchestra has performed similar concerts featuring films from the Harry Potter and Star Wars film franchises.
Tickets start at $39 and are available online at greenvillesymphony.org, by phone at 864-467-3000, or in person at the Peace Center box office, 300 S. Main St. in downtown Greenville.
