New Leadership and New Office
The MARC board of directors unanimously approved Gardner’s appointment at their June 23 meeting. The board also discussed the upcoming move of MARC’s office from 600 Broadway Boulevard to 801 Pennsylvania Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The new office will be smaller, with MARC occupying the first floor and part of the fourth floor.
The board meeting also included updates from area officials, including the opening of a police training range and fire station in Platte County, and the opening of Clock Tower Landing in old Overland Park. The city of Raymore is in the midst of a public education campaign for a new criminal justice center.
Gardner expressed her excitement about joining MARC, saying she is “humbled and honored” to have been hired for the position. She has been a longtime admirer of MARC and is looking forward to meeting the staff and learning about their work.
