A man riding an inner tube on Lake Martin was injured after being struck by a boat’s propeller. The incident occurred near Big Kowaliga Creek in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.
According to Alabama Marine Police, 25-year-old Stewart Holmes, from North Carolina, was struck by the propeller on a pontoon boat operated by 58-year-old Louie Holmes of Webster, Florida.
Holmes had been towed on the inner tube, but it became disconnected, and while he was being taken out of the water, he was struck by the propeller. He was taken to University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital for treatment.
