Reds’ Burns, Stewart Make MLB All-Star Team

The 2026 MLB All-Star roster has been announced, and two of the Cincinnati Reds’ youngest talents have made the cut. Chase Burns and Sal Stewart will be joining dozens of other baseball stars from across the league at the game on July 14.

Reds’ Phenoms Shine

Burns, a 23-year-old starting pitcher, has achieved an impressive 10-1 record over 17 starts this season. He also has an ERA of 2.40, the lowest amongst all of the Reds’ starting pitchers this season. Stewart, a 22-year-old rookie, has led the team in home runs and RBI’s this year and is the only player to have made an appearance in every game so far this season for the Reds.

Both players have been rare bright spots on a Reds roster that has otherwise been defined by widespread struggles on the field this year. While Burns has represented some of Cincinnati’s top capabilities on defense, Stewart has represented some of Cincinnati’s best capabilities on offense.

Burns expressed his excitement about being selected, saying, ‘Yeah, it’s everything that I’ve dreamed of… A lot of hard work this offseason.’ Stewart also shared his shock and gratitude, saying, ‘I’m just a young man trying to do my best… I’m confident in myself, but I mean, this… I would watch the All-Star Game with my dad every year.’

The first pitch of the MLB All-Star game will be thrown out at 8 p.m. on July 14. Burns and Stewart will be joining other notable players, including Shohei Ohtani, Juan Soto, and Middletown native Kyle Schwarber.
