A group of Stamford students recently wrapped up a hands-on internship with SoundWaters, the local nonprofit dedicated to protecting Long Island Sound and educating the next generation of environmental stewards.
According to a report published by Patch on July 1, 2026, the students successfully completed the SoundWaters internship program — gaining real-world experience in marine and environmental science right in their own backyard.
SoundWaters has long been a cornerstone of environmental education in the Stamford community, connecting young people with the waterways and ecosystems that define the region. Internships like this one give students the opportunity to move beyond the classroom and engage directly with the natural world, building skills and a sense of stewardship that can last a lifetime.
The completion of the program is a milestone worth celebrating — both for the students who put in the work and for a community that continues to invest in its young people and its environment. Congratulations to all the participants on a job well done!
