Albuquerque Police officers were involved in a shooting late Friday night in the downtown area that left one man dead. The incident occurred just before midnight on July 3, at the intersection of Central Avenue and 3rd Street.
According to police, one man was shot by officers and later died at the hospital. A handgun was located at the scene after the shooting. A second man was also shot and injured during what appeared to be an altercation with the first man. The second man is expected to survive.
