Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has officially endorsed Mike Mazzei in the Republican gubernatorial primary runoff. Stitt, who is in his final term as governor, announced his support for Mazzei, a businessman and former state lawmaker, citing his experience as Stitt’s budget secretary.
Mazzei’s Qualifications
Mazzei and Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond advanced to the runoff election after no Republican candidate received at least 50 percent of the vote in the June primary. Mazzei has also received the endorsement of President Donald Trump, who called Drummond a ‘fake Republican’ on Truth Social.
Stitt praised Mazzei’s fiscal conservatism, saying, ‘Nobody knows the budget and being fiscally conservative more than he does.’ Mazzei and Drummond each received about 26 percent of the vote in the primary, with Drummond leading by a little over 1,100 votes.
