Two individuals, reportedly a couple, climbed to the top of the Empire State Building in New York City, where they unfurled a large banner with a message about love and peace. The trespassing stunt, which appeared to be an act of love, was caught on camera and reported to the authorities.
Details of the Incident
The pair, who were dressed in black clothing and face coverings, were spotted on the top of the building’s antenna around 12 p.m. on Wednesday. They fastened the banner, which read ‘When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace,’ to the antenna before beginning their descent.
According to reports, the couple, who have been identified as Russian nationals Angela Nikolau and Ivan Beerkus, have a history of similar stunts, including a documentary called ‘Skywalkers: A Love Story’ that showcases their rooftopping adventures.
The NYPD is investigating the incident and looking into how the pair gained access to the antenna, which is not accessible to the public.
