According to incident reports, the stolen trailer was a 6-by-12-foot utility trailer valued at $8,000. The thief became detached from the trailer, which then struck a mailbox and caused damage to a residential yard. Wright was unable to recall any distinguishable features of the truck, except that it was a white, late-model Ford pickup truck.
Wright, who is awaiting sentencing for a federal corruption case, declined to give a voluntary written statement. The trailer was recovered by Wright via Rhodes Towing. The incident is being investigated by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office and the Lyman Police Department.
