Canadiens Sign Ivan Demidov To 8 Year Extension

The Montreal Canadiens have signed forward Ivan Demidov to an eight-year, $73 million contract extension. Demidov, 20, topped all NHL rookies last season in goals and points.

Contract Details

Demidov’s deal includes $57.6 million in signing bonus money and a 10-team no-trade clause for the final three seasons of the deal. He had been scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the 2026-27 season.

Demidov has recorded 64 points in 84 career games. He added three goals and nine points in 19 playoff games last season.
