DCH Health System President and CEO Katrina Keefer has been elected to the Alabama Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees, where she will serve as West Regional Council Representative.
Leadership and Advocacy
Keefer was elected during AlaHA’s 2026 Annual Meeting and will represent hospitals across West Alabama on the association’s governing board. AlaHA serves as the statewide voice for Alabama’s hospitals, advocating for policies that strengthen healthcare delivery and patient care across the state.
Keefer has led Tuscaloosa’s DCH Health System since 2022, working to strengthen operations, support the workforce and improve access to care across the communities the system serves.
"I am honored to serve on the Alabama Hospital Association Board of Trustees and to represent the hospitals and communities of West Alabama," Keefer said. "I look forward to collaborating with healthcare leaders across the state to support initiatives that strengthen our hospitals and ensure patients have access to compassionate, high-quality care close to home."
Background and Experience
Before joining DCH, Keefer served as CEO of Augusta University Health and held several executive leadership roles within UAB Health System, including 13 years as Chief Financial Officer of Baptist Health in Montgomery. She currently serves in leadership roles with several other organizations, including as incoming board chair of America’s Essential Hospitals, and as a board member of the Alabama School for Health Sciences, the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and the United Way of West Alabama. She is also a trustee of Huntingdon College.
Founded in 1921, the Alabama Hospital Association is a statewide trade organization that supports member hospitals through advocacy, representation, education and service.
