A body was found in a rural area of Scott County, Indiana, on Monday. Deputies were dispatched to the area near the Knobstone Trail around 10:19 a.m. regarding an abandoned vehicle. Indiana Conservation Officers were also notified and responded to the scene.
During the investigation, a body was found. Officials recovered the body and a forensic exam has been scheduled to identify the person and cause of death. This will take around 6-8 weeks.
Scott County Sheriff Jerry Goodin said, “We are saddened by the discovery of the body found yesterday. This is an active investigation. There will be more information released later once we have all the answers possible concerning this death.” The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information to call 812-752-5550.
