A CBS2 reporter and photographer were attacked by three men while working near the Adler Planetarium in downtown Chicago on Monday. The men drove up in a white tow truck and one of them yelled racist slurs, attempting to direct his dog to attack one of the CBS employees, a 54-year-old man.
When the dog did not attack, the man became irate and threw the victim’s property on the ground, breaking it, and then drove off with the other men in the white truck. Witnesses reported that the racial slurs were directed at the photographer, who is Black.
The photographer and reporter were not injured in the attack. The incident is being investigated by the police, who are speaking to three persons of interest.
