A fire on Southeast Cactus Trail in Hobe Sound on Monday afternoon resulted in one fatality, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed. Detectives for the sheriff’s office, along with the fire marshal, are en route to the scene to begin an investigation into the cause of the fire.
The sheriff’s office said the fire, which started early Monday afternoon, was extinguished by Monday evening. Authorities have not released the name of the victim.
