Casper Area Mountain Bike Youth Racing (CAMBYR) is preparing for another exciting mountain bike season as athletes get ready to compete in the Colorado High School Cycling League. With Wyoming currently lacking a high school mountain bike league, CAMBYR riders travel throughout Colorado to race, develop skills, build confidence, and represent Natrona County.
Upcoming Events
The team is especially excited for the opportunity to welcome new athletes to the team. The biggest fundraiser of the year is the CAMBYR BBQ on June 30, which will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 1511 S. Melrose (Wind City Kids building). The support from the community helps cover travel, food, camping, and team expenses, ensuring that cost is not a barrier for local youth who want to experience the lifelong benefits of mountain biking.
Leif Johansson, head coach of CAMBYR, is also excited about other upcoming events in the community, including Riverfest on August 15, which supports the Platte River Trails system, and Fat Fish Racing’s local mountain bike events on Monday nights, which bring together riders of all ages and abilities.
