A collision tied to impaired driving left a local police vehicle damaged early Saturday morning in Pinellas Park, though the officer inside managed to walk away unscathed.
Details of the Crash
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:20 a.m. on June 27, 2026, at the intersection of Ulmerton Road and 49th Street North. State troopers reported that 27-year-old Jessica Harvey of Avon, Indiana, was driving a Chevy Traverse eastbound on Ulmerton Road. At the same time, a marked Pinellas Park Police Department cruiser was traveling westbound on the same road.
As the officer attempted to make a left turn under a green traffic signal, Harvey failed to stop for the red light at the intersection. Her SUV entered the intersection and collided directly with the police vehicle.
Despite the impact, FHP confirmed that the police officer sustained no injuries during the incident. Following an on-scene investigation, troopers determined that Harvey was driving while impaired. She was subsequently arrested by FHP troopers at the scene.
