Louisville Metro Council approved Mayor Craig Greenberg’s nearly $1 billion budget on Thursday night. The budget allocates $40 million for housing, $30 million for road infrastructure, and funds for various community projects.
Key Budget Allocations
The budget includes $4.4 million for park maintenance, $4.5 million to renovate the Sun Valley Pool, and $5.9 million for the Newburg Community Center gym. Additionally, $125,000 is allocated for the Florence Skate Spot and $1 million for improvements at McNeely Lake Park.
The budget also sets aside $500,000 for the city’s rainy day fund and $100,000 for a school bus stop lighting study. Furthermore, $6.2 million less in debt will be issued to pay for the Fiscal Year 27 Capital and Operating budgets, and non-scheduled overtime was reduced by $2.2 million.
