FC Cincinnati star Miles Robinson has drawn his first start in the 2026 World Cup on Thursday night. The United States Men’s National Team released its starting lineup ahead of Thursday’s match against Türkiye, with Robinson among the 11 starters.
Robinson’s World Cup Debut
Robinson will become the first active FC Cincinnati player to play in the World Cup for the United States, after not appearing in each of the first two U.S. victories this summer. Only one active FC Cincinnati player has ever taken the pitch in a World Cup match: Ronald Matarrita, who did so in 2022 for Costa Rica.
Robinson has made 38 appearances for the Stars and Stripes since his debut in 2019. This is his first time being named to a World Cup team. He was in line to be named to the U.S. side in 2022, but an Achilles injury kept him off the squad.
Robinson’s start comes as head coach Mauricio Pochettino rests several of the typical starters before the U.S. advances to the knockout stage.
