President Donald Trump delivered a campaign-style speech to kick off the Great American State Fair in Washington after musical performers canceled their appearances due to the event’s political ties.
Event Details
The Great American State Fair is part of Freedom 250, a Trump-aligned fundraising group, and is separate from America 250 events being organized by Congress to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.
After the musical acts pulled out, Trump decided to hold a campaign-style rally instead. He spoke for about 30 minutes during the event, which featured a different lineup of singers and military flyovers.
‘Today, we have the largest economy on Earth. We have the strongest military on Earth. We have the most powerful technology on Earth. We have the greatest culture on Earth. And above all, we have the greatest people on Earth,’ Trump said.
Fair Continues
The Great American State Fair continues for the next two weeks as part of the Freedom 250 celebrations in Washington. It will have a little taste of all parts of America.
Each day has a different theme. Some days celebrate the military or the country’s heritage, while each Monday is themed after the Make America Healthy Again agenda.
There are more than 150 exhibits set up celebrating parts of all 56 states and territories. Some states aren’t sending delegations because they didn’t have enough time to prepare or are worried about the event being too partisan.
