A driver crashed a stolen black SUV into a silver Lexus sedan at the intersection of Ten-Ten Road and Old Stage Road in Raleigh during the Thursday morning commute.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (SHP), the driver of the stolen SUV ran a red light, crashed into the Lexus, and then crashed into the treeline.
When a good Samaritan stopped to help, the driver jumped into the witness’ vehicle and fled the scene, eventually crashing again on Morgan Street near downtown Raleigh.
The SHP said the man, who was transported to a hospital with minor injuries, was likely impaired.
