Texarkana Water Utilities has issued a boil water notice for a part of Texarkana, Texas, due to a loss of water pressure. The notice affects customers on Ben Burrough Road, Yorktown Place, Keller Avenue, Gould Lane, Gould Place, Polly Circle, and Polly Drive.
Residents in the affected area are advised to boil their tap water before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or other activities that could involve swallowing water. The water should be brought to a rolling boil for two minutes and then allowed to cool before use. Bottled water can also be used.
The notice is precautionary, as a loss of water pressure can allow bacteria or other contaminants to enter the water system. The notice will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe, at which point TWU will issue a notice lifting the advisory. Residents with questions can call 903-798-3850.
