The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps kicked off its performance season with a show at the Fort Caspar Museum in Casper, Wyoming. The event started with a performance by the Legacy Corps, a band consisting of group alumni and other former musicians.
Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps Performance
After the Legacy Corps performance, the ‘A’ Corps performed its new piece ‘Into Darkness.’ The Troopers Drum & Bugle Corps Executive Director Michael Gough said the group has been working hard for the last three and a half weeks to prepare for the show.
The histories of the Drum & Bugle Corps and the museum are inextricably linked, as the Casper-based band plays music heavily inspired by the tunes played by the cavalry that resided at the fort during the 19th century. The Troopers adopted their identity in 1957 and are approaching almost 70 years of history.
The show also marked the final event of TroopCon 2026 in Casper. The band hosted celebrations and events throughout the week, including a tour of the historical Troopers Corps Hall and a reunion for group alumni.
