Two beloved Cody institutions have joined forces to give the youngest members of the community a head start on a lifetime of reading. Cody Regional Health and the Park County Library have partnered to support early literacy through a new “Books for Babies” program, according to Big Horn Basin Media.
The collaboration brings together the resources of a trusted local healthcare provider and the community’s public library system with a shared goal: making sure newborns and their families leave with more than just a healthy start — they leave with books in hand and a love of reading already taking root.
Early literacy programs like “Books for Babies” are widely recognized as powerful tools for child development, helping build vocabulary, strengthen the parent-child bond, and prepare young children for future learning. By connecting families with books at one of the earliest touchpoints in a child’s life — a healthcare visit — the partnership ensures that reading materials reach homes that might not otherwise have easy access to them.
It’s a heartwarming example of two community pillars working together for the benefit of Cody’s youngest residents and their families. Residents interested in learning more about the program are encouraged to reach out to Cody Regional Health or the Park County Library directly.
