Investigation Details
After reporting the abuse to the police, the victim agreed to make a recorded phone call to Randel while discussing the details of the abuse with him. A criminal complaint shows Randel said his goal was not to hurt the victim but to get closer to him. It says Randel admitted to crossing a line and said he was not proud of what happened.
Randel is charged with third-degree sexual abuse, assault with intent to commit sexual abuse, and lascivious conduct with a minor. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office said Randel surrendered last week and has since posted bond. Indiana University School of Medicine and Eskenazi Health both confirm he’s no longer employed there.
