Trial Begins For Man Accused In Fatal Wrong Way Crash

A trial has begun in Bexar County for Christopher Navarro, who is accused of causing a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 35 in January 2024. The crash claimed the life of 26-year-old Yulissa Valero.

Family Seeks Justice

Valero’s family has been attending court proceedings since her death, seeking justice and accountability. Her sister, Natalie Garza, has been a constant presence in the courtroom, determined to see the case through to its end.

Prosecutors allege that Navarro was driving the wrong way on I-35 when he crashed head-on into the vehicle Valero was riding in. Authorities said Navarro had been stopped by police before allegedly fleeing and causing the fatal collision.

The trial is expected to continue through the week, with Navarro facing up to life in prison if convicted of murder.
