A student at Southern Hills Middle School in Colorado was allegedly wrapped with a laptop charger around his neck and called an antisemitic slur, according to a complaint filed by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). The incident occurred in December 2025 and was severe enough that the Boulder Police Department was called to investigate.
Pattern of Harassment
The complaint alleges that school officials failed to stop two years of antisemitic harassment against the eighth-grader, despite investigations concluding that the student faced a hostile environment. In April 2025, students allegedly attempted to play a game called ‘Jew touch tag’ and said Jews were ‘dirty’ and ‘contaminated.’ The student was also told ‘Hitler should have killed all the Jews when he had the chance’ in April 2026.
The ADL’s Vice President of Litigation, James Pasch, stated that the school district failed to effectively address the harassment, violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. The ADL recorded 167 antisemitic incidents in Colorado in 2025.
