7 Brew Coffee Chain Expands Rapidly Across America

7 Brew, a rapidly growing drive-thru coffee chain, is making its presence felt across the United States, particularly in regions with limited coffee options. Originating in Rogers, Arkansas in 2017, the chain has expanded to over 700 locations in 38 states, with plans for 340 more. Unlike major coffee brands, 7 Brew focuses on drive-thrus and walk-up windows, avoiding high-traffic urban areas.

Affordable Indulgence

In a time when many Americans are tightening their belts, 7 Brew offers an affordable luxury. With sales soaring from $502 million in 2024 to nearly $1.2 billion last year, the chain’s success is attributed to its lower prices and customizable drinks. Marketing professor Sharaya Jones from George Mason University highlights that coffee is a category where consumers are increasingly price-sensitive, making 7 Brew’s offerings attractive compared to more expensive options like Starbucks.

The chain’s menu has expanded from its original seven drinks to over 20,000 combinations, with most customizations offered at no extra charge. This flexibility, along with a straightforward loyalty program, has helped build customer loyalty quickly. Customers like Mayra Okechukwu in Utah appreciate the lower prices and convenience of 7 Brew’s drive-thru format.

Community and Convenience

7 Brew’s model appeals to families and commuters, offering a quick and convenient coffee experience. The chain’s average service time is faster than its competitors, with customers spending about 8.7 minutes at a 7 Brew stand. This efficiency, combined with promotions like free t-shirts and discounts for first responders, helps attract a steady stream of customers.

Despite its rapid growth, 7 Brew faces challenges in competing with traditional coffeehouses that offer a ‘third space’ for socializing and remote work. However, for many, the convenience and affordability of 7 Brew outweigh the loss of atmosphere. Jesslynne Mann, a graduate student and mother in Kentucky, uses 7 Brew as a ‘date night’ option, enjoying the opportunity to create memories over a shared treat.

Backed by investments from Blackstone and Franchise Equity Partners, 7 Brew’s expansion continues, driven by its viral presence on social media and a commitment to affordable, quality coffee.
