More than 11 million cartons of Rohto Cooling Eye Drops have been recalled nationwide. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a Class II recall on July 23, citing concerns that the products may not be sterile. The recall affects select lot numbers of eight Rohto Cooling Eye Drops varieties.
The affected products were manufactured by Rohto-Mentholatum in Vietnam and distributed by The Mentholatum Company of Orchard Park, New York. Although no illnesses have been reported, the FDA warns that the affected products may cause temporary or reversible health effects, but serious consequences are considered unlikely.
