A 10-year-old boy who went missing after leaving his home while sleepwalking was found dead, according to police in Missouri. Jackson S. Georgari was last seen around midnight, according to the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
Investigation Underway
Family members told police that Jackson sleepwalks, and while sleepwalking, he walked out of the home. Jackson’s body was found in a pond approximately half a mile from where he went missing. Police said fire crews attempted to resuscitate Jackson, but unfortunately, he was declared dead at the scene.
Jackson’s family told sister station KMBC that he had a history of sleepwalking. His sisters say they believe Jackson walked a path he knew well from his school bus rides, along wooded areas near streams and ponds. A large search using K-9 units and drones lasted all morning until Jackson’s body was found.
His family told us that Jackson did not know how to swim. The case has now turned into an active death investigation.
