The YWCA Greater Green Bay has officially opened its new and improved rooftop playground, providing a safe outdoor space for children to be active and healthy. Located in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the rooftop playground is part of the YWCA’s early childcare program and features new turf, a small in-built turf hill with a tunnel, and a metal play airplane frame.
Enhancing Childcare Facilities
The original playground was built over 20 years ago, and the new improvements were made possible through donations from Green Bay Packaging and the George Kress Foundation. YWCA Executive Director Amy Schaueble emphasized the importance of access to safe, high-quality childcare for families, allowing parents to work and contribute to the local economy.
George Kress Foundation President Michelle Hansen expressed pride in partnering with the YWCA to enhance the space for children and families, recognizing the significance of quality childcare in the community.
