Sioux Falls is scoring on two fronts this week, with good news for young basketball players and for residents who rely on public transportation.
The Sioux Falls Family YMCA and the Sioux Falls Skyforce have renewed their partnership to support youth basketball programs in the city. The collaboration between the community fitness organization and the NBA G League franchise continues to bring professional-level enthusiasm and resources to young players across Sioux Falls.
On the transit front, Mayor Paul TenHaken highlighted encouraging momentum for the city’s SAM (Sioux Area Metro) public bus system, reporting that ridership is up. TenHaken also pointed to the SAM On-Demand service as a tool that is opening job opportunities to more Sioux Falls residents — connecting people to workplaces that might otherwise be out of reach without reliable transportation.
Together, the two developments reflect a community investing in its people — from kids learning the game of basketball to working adults gaining new pathways to employment.
