The Yankees won the series opener 5-2 on Friday, but dropped the next two games, including an 11-4 blowout on Saturday where the Twins hit six home runs. The Yankees have now lost nine of their last eleven games and fallen out of first place.
Some individual players did receive good news, as the Yankees are sending four players to the All-Star Game in Philadelphia on July 14th. Aaron Judge was voted in as a starter for the eighth time, while Cody Bellinger earns his first selection since 2019. First-timers Cam Schlittler and Ben Rice round out the group.
