Wyoming State Chamber Adds Longtime Sheridan CEO Teresa Detimore to Board

Teresa Detimore, the chief executive officer of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce, has been welcomed to the board of directors of the Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce. The appointment was announced in a media release from the State Chamber, noting that Detimore succeeds Meri Ann Dorman.

Decades of Service to Wyoming Business Community

Detimore’s tenure with the Sheridan County Chamber spans 17 years. She began in 2009 as Program Development Director, overseeing initiatives that helped local businesses grow and connect. In February 2025 she was promoted to CEO, a role in which she has continued to champion economic development, workforce training, and community partnership across the county.

Her leadership was recognized statewide in 2024 when she was named Wyoming Chamber Employee of the Year, an honor that highlighted her dedication to fostering a thriving business climate in the region.

Board Chair Highlights Detimore’s Value

Wyoming State Chamber Board Chair Heather Tupper praised Detimore’s appointment, stating that her years of experience, dedication to Wyoming businesses, and passion for helping communities thrive will be a tremendous asset to the board and to chambers across the state. Tupper added that Detimore’s perspective from a smaller, rural community will help ensure the State Chamber’s programs remain relevant to chambers of all sizes.

What the State Chamber Does

The Wyoming State Chamber of Commerce serves as a resource and advocate for local chambers throughout the state. Its core functions include connecting chamber leaders, providing professional‑development resources, and strengthening partnerships that support Wyoming’s businesses and communities. By bringing Detimore onto the board, the organization aims to deepen its ties to the northeastern part of the state and to leverage her proven track record in community‑focused economic initiatives.

Implications for Local Businesses

Detimore’s new role is expected to benefit Sheridan-area businesses directly. As a board member, she will have a voice in shaping statewide policies, training programs, and advocacy efforts that affect everything from small‑business licensing to workforce development grants. Local entrepreneurs and employers can look forward to greater representation of their interests at the state level.

For the broader Wyoming business community, Detimore’s appointment underscores the State Chamber’s commitment to inclusive leadership that reflects the diversity of the state’s economies—from agriculture and energy to tourism and technology.

Looking Ahead

Detimore will join her fellow board members at upcoming meetings where the chamber will discuss legislative priorities, upcoming conferences, and new initiatives aimed at bolstering Wyoming’s economic resilience. Her experience in program development and community outreach is expected to inform discussions on how to better serve rural chambers and their members.

The appointment marks another step in the State Chamber’s ongoing effort to ensure that the voices of all Wyoming chambers—big and small—are heard in the state’s economic conversation.
