Freshman forward Alyssa GloverReese Gould, was Glover’s fifth of the season and the 24th of her career, leaving her one tally shy of the program’s all‑time mark held by Jamie Tatum (25 from 2019‑23). It also represented Glover’s ninth game‑winning goal, ranking third‑most in Cowgirl history.
Later in the second half, Brooke Brown added a second goal from distance, extending the lead to two and securing the win. It was Brown’s second goal of the season.
Defensive dominance
Goalkeeper Haley Bartel recorded her sixth shutout of the season, making a single save and posting her 24th career clean sheet – five more than former net‑minder Ashley Sheppard, who held the record from 2004‑07. The Cowgirls out‑shot Nevada 15‑2 and held a 5‑1 advantage in shots on goal, underscoring the team’s control throughout the match.
“There’s always a little bit of nerves going into the first conference road game,” head coach Josh Purdum said. “But when you realize it’s just another game, and we prepare the same way, we talk the same way, we walk the same way, we should expect a good performance.” He added that the depth of the roster made the shutout possible, noting, “Several had to step up. To go that deep into our bench and get a shutout and a couple goals on the road feels good.”
Looking ahead
Wyoming’s next challenge arrives next week when the Cowgirls travel to UC Davis for a 7 p.m. match at Aggie Soccer Field on October 2. The team will aim to extend its road‑winning streak and continue building momentum in Mountain West competition.
