Wylie East Lady Raiders place 23rd at Coach T Marcus Invite, boosting team to 13th overall

Wylie East High School showcased its depth on Saturday at the Coach T Marcus Invitational held at North Lakes Park in Denton. Junior Evangeline Williams posted a strong 23rd‑place finish in 18:34, helping the Lady Raiders secure a 13th‑place team result among the state’s top cross‑country programs.

Individual performances lift the Lady Raiders

Williams, a rising junior, set the pace for the team’s elite girls varsity squad. Freshman Olivia Jeffcoats followed with a 59th‑place finish in 19:29, while junior Amiya Runsewe placed 125th in 20:27.37. Additional scoring members included junior Isabelle Price (138th, 20:49) and junior Reagan Tolar (175th, 21:20). The combined effort moved the Lady Raiders up the standings and demonstrated the program’s growing competitiveness.

Raiders men’s squad also posts solid showing

On the boys’ side, sophomore Tyson Em led the Wylie East Raiders with a 92nd‑place finish in 16:31. Junior Jaden Parish added a 107th‑place effort in 16:39, and freshman Carson Clark finished 164th in 17:04. Sophomore Isaac Pretus and sophomore Holden Ring rounded out the scoring group, placing 243rd (17:41) and 254th (17:46) respectively.

Why the result matters for Wylie East athletics

The Coach T Marcus Invite draws elite programs from across Texas, offering a benchmark for local teams. A 13th‑place team finish signals that Wylie East’s cross‑country program is competing at a high level and provides valuable experience for athletes heading into the state championship season. Coach T’s reputation for challenging courses and strong competition makes this result a confidence boost for both the Lady Raiders and the Raiders.

Community support and future outlook

Parents, alumni, and local supporters gathered at North Lakes Park to cheer the athletes, underscoring the community‑first spirit that defines Wylie’s sports culture. The school’s athletic department plans to build on this momentum with targeted training sessions and upcoming meets that will further test the team’s depth.

Looking ahead, the Lady Raiders aim to improve their team ranking at the upcoming regional qualifiers, while the Raiders will seek to move up the overall standings in future invitational events. Continued dedication from the athletes, coaching staff, and community will be essential as Wylie East strives for higher placements and potential state titles.
