On Saturday, June 14th, Wycliff Animal Clinic in Overland Park, Kansas, hosted a day of free vaccines for the community’s furry friends. The clinic, which provides a free vaccine service every second Saturday of the month, also offered pup cups from The Golden Scoop to help make the experience more enjoyable for pets.
Community Support
According to George Callum, manager of Wycliff Animal Clinic, the event was expected to draw at least 45 dogs and cats. The clinic’s goal is to educate pet owners about their pets’ health and provide affordable care. Callum stated, ‘We have these on the second Saturday of every month… It’s nice to have that community, and it helps our clients because, right now, money’s tight, and it helps them and it helps their pets, who may not get vaccines because they can’t afford some of the expenses.’
The Golden Scoop, a local business, provided 70 pup cups for the event. Pup cups are small cups filled with plain vanilla ice cream that most dogs love. The clinic uses the pup cups to distract pets while they receive their shots, making the experience less stressful for both the pets and their owners.
