A 68-year-old woman drowned in East Haddam on Wednesday night, Connecticut State Police said. Police were called to a home on Triangle Drive around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a possible drowning. When they arrived, the woman, Mary Tracy Shepley, was treated on scene, according to state police.
Shepley was then transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. Part of Triangle Drive runs along the Moodus Reservoir, but state police did not say whether the incident occurred in the reservoir.
No further details were immediately provided. The incident remains under investigation.
