Kentucky State Police reported that an elderly woman and a two-year-old child were rescued from a sinking truck in Harlan County on Thursday. The truck had rolled backwards into Martin’s Fork Lake, and the victims were trapped inside.
Four nearby citizens jumped into action to save the victims, and another witness entered the water to assist with the rescue. Thanks to their swift and selfless actions, both the elderly woman and the child were rescued without serious injuries.
The rescue is a powerful reminder that ordinary people are capable of extraordinary acts. The five individuals placed the lives of strangers ahead of their own safety, demonstrating remarkable courage and kindness.
