Multiple sources indicate that the next athletic director for the University of Wisconsin is expected to come from Texas, but have strong Wisconsin connections. Shawn Eichorst, a former athlete at UW-Whitewater and a former deputy athletic director under Barry Alvarez in Madison in 2009, is a potential candidate. Eichorst has served as an athletic director at Miami and Nebraska.

Eichorst would succeed Chris McIntosh if appointed. The appointment is expected to be announced soon.
