Wildfire Near Penrose Forces Evacuations

A wildfire near Penrose, Colorado, has prompted the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office to issue mandatory evacuations for all of Fremont County Road F45. Both directions of Highway 115 are closed between CO 120 and County Road F45 due to fire activity, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office reports that the wildfire is approximately 50 yards by 50 yards in size and advises people to avoid the area. Details about the fire are currently limited, and a KRDO13 crew is en route to the scene.
