The West Hartford Fire Department responded to a fire at Blue Plate Kitchen on Sunday morning. A small fire was found in a storage closet, and there was smoke throughout the restaurant.
According to officials, the sprinklers extinguished most of the fire, but a neighboring business, Float 41, was also affected. The West Hartford Fire Department reminds businesses and property owners that properly maintained automatic sprinkler systems play a critical role in controlling fires, limiting property damage, and protecting occupants until firefighters arrive.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the West Hartford Fire Department, the West Hartford Police Department, West Hartford-Bloomfield Health District, and the West Hartford Building Department responded to the scene. UConn Health Center Fire provided station coverage during the incident.
