The 2026 Wyoming high school golf season reaches its climax this weekend as the fourth and final week of regular‑season play unfolds across four host towns. Buffalo, Lander, Rock Springs and Wheatland each hold two‑day invitational tournaments, while Newcastle adds a one‑day Friday event for a small field of teams.
Thursday, Sept. 3 – Day 1 Action
Buffalo Invite (Buffalo Golf Club, noon) featured ten schools, including Big Horn, Buffalo, Campbell County, Greybull/Riverside, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Sheridan, Ten Sleep, Thunder Basin and Tongue River. The girls’ clubhouse lead was split between Ruth Needham of Thermopolis and Cody Fisher of Powell, each topping their division after the first round.
Girls team scores: Thermopolis 280, Ten Sleep 291, Powell 299, Worland 315, Lander 319.
Boys team scores: Lander 303, Riverton 308, Powell 318, Cody 342, Lovell 351, Worland 371.
Terry Berg Invite (Lander Golf Club, 10 a.m.) saw participation from Cody, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Thermopolis and Worland. The early leaderboard mirrored the Buffalo results, with Needham and Fisher holding the lead in their respective divisions.
Rock Springs Invite (White Mountain Golf Club, 1 p.m.) attracted nine schools: Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Kemmerer, Lyman, Rock Springs and Star Valley. Tazlyn Wagner (Kemmerer) and Bella Beach (Cheyenne Central) shared the girls’ lead, while Star Valley’s Deegan Hill posted a four‑shot advantage. After Day 1, the Central girls and Star Valley boys were atop the team standings.
Wheatland Invite (Wheatland Golf Club, 10 a.m.) featured Cheyenne South, Douglas, Glenrock, Laramie, Rawlins, Torrington and Wheatland. Haylie Nelson and Tate Nichols led the clubhouse for the day, and the host Bulldogs topped both the boys’ and girls’ team tables.
Friday, Sept. 4 – Final Rounds
The second day of competition began early, with each venue opening between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. The Buffalo Invite kicked off at 9 a.m., followed by the Terry Berg Invite at the same time. Newcastle’s first home invite ran at 10 a.m., drawing teams from Hulett, Lusk, Moorcroft, Newcastle, Sundance, Upton and Wright.
Rock Springs and Wheatland continued their schedules, with the White Mountain and Wheatland Golf Clubs hosting their respective fields at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. The final scores will be posted by WyoPreps after the rounds conclude.
