Downtown Waukee is being redesigned to add parking and create more space for community events. The city is adding about 50 new parking spaces around the Downtown Triangle district.
A section of Walnut Street near the Waukee Ice Cream Shoppe will become a one-way street with parking on both sides. The street can also be closed for events like the Farmers Market and WinterFest.
Parking improvements are expected to be completed by mid-August, while work on Walnut Street will continue into November.
